Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into an ethnically diverse family. She's English as well as her father is Nigerian. She was born in the southern part of London Council Estate and attended The Brit School aged 14. She went to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned an acting BA. At the academy and performing in numerous stage productions, such as King Henry V as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting career began in the series Storm Damage. Over the past few years she has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Madekwe scored her first motion-picture role in the Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. The following year she portrayed Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally, she starred in Trexx as Ollie and six episodes in Flipside. She played Bambi on The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe also played the main character on How to lose friends & make people feel alienated that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment the year 2008. She also appeared in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path written composed by David Watson.
Madekwe made her US debut in the 2009 drama series The Beautiful Life, which just aired two episodes on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge from February 2011. After appearing on the show for the first two seasons it was announced in May 2013 that Madekwe would quit the show following an appearance as a guest in the first episode of the third season. From 2014 to 2016, she starred in Salem on the CW as Tituba. In June 2012, the actress married her long-time boyfriend, actor Iddo Goldberg. They've worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl and also played a part with her on the TV series Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. She was raised by both parents Roy and Patty together with four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's brothers, who were each of them extremely physically active, were all playing hockey during the winter months and played baseball in the summer months, which means that she grew up playing in parks and arenas. Ashley did not walk; instead, she danced. In the age of two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley began to be a dancer following this. Ashley competed in top-level divisions in jazz, tap hip hop, ballet the lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe, until she finished from high school. Additionally, she was awarded top soloists awards in all major dance contests, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
