Ariel began her career in acting young, appearing in a Cool Whip commercial at age 6. Her first TV role at age 7 appearing in an episode of the CBS comedy Listen Up!. The following years, she played in some of the shows she appeared in, including Monk Bones or ER. Gretchen was her character in 2007 in Disney Original Channel's animated show Phineas and Ferb. In 2007, she was cast as her first live-action character in the role of Alex Dunphy, on the popular television show Modern Family. With the cast in Modern Family she received the Screen Actors Guild Award in four different years for the Best Ensemble Comedy Series. Ariel has continued to voice roles in movies like ParaNorman Cloudy, With A Chance Of Meatballs & Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright. Ariel is a purple belt in Taekwondo. She is the sister to Shanelle Workman.
